Oil Cleaning

PureBilge

Alfa Laval PureBilge is a fully automated centrifugal separation system that cleans oily water effectively at sea. With options to reduce oil pollution below 5 ppm –far tougher than the 15 ppm IMO requirement – it sets a new standard in making water safe for discharge overboard.

Reliable, efficient, continuous

  • Compact, modular, easy-to-install system saves time, space and money
  • Continuous, single-stage operation requires less holding tank volume and provides more payload capacity
  • Reduced operating costs thanks to low maintenance, automated control, minimal waste disposal, no chemical consumption and no disposable filter element
  • Unaffected by sea heave, oil shocks or high solids loading
  • Password-locked switch ensures only those responsible for environmental compliance may authorize discharge

Alfa Laval PureBilge is a high-speed centrifugal oily water separation (OWS) system that cleans large volumes. Its superior separation performance stems from the patented XLrator spiral inlet, which prevents oil droplets splitting and additional emulsions forming. It is even available for smaller vessels as PureBilge Compact.

PureBilge Compact is specifically designed for vessels requiring only a smaller treatment capacity and can be installed on a new vessel or retrofitted on an existing one.

They do not require chemicals, adsorption filters or membranes and they reduce operating costs by being designed for 24/7 unmanned operation.

Filtration

Filtering Elements

Alfa Laval Moatti self-cleaning filters for fuel oil, lubricating oil, and hydraulic control oil provide high-performance filtration with virtually no pressure drop. They protect a wide range of diesel engines and help engine builders, integrators, and machine operators live up to strict emission standards. Innovative Atrium 2.0 technology enables larger filtering areas, in a more compact design. Optional treatment systems efficiently remove solids in the backflushed oil.

Don’t let cartridges clog your operation

Alfa Laval Moatti 180 automatic, continuously self-cleaning filters use state-of-the-art Atrium 2.0 technology to keep lubrication oil cleaner, longer. Tough and reliable, Moatti 180 filters are designed to protect engines from contaminants and debris and keep them running smoothly, with minimized risk of unplanned downtime. And because they are cartridge-free, Alfa Laval Moatti 180 filters cut out a vast waste stream and eliminate hours of hazardous, unnecessary maintenance work.

Service made simple

No downtime. No unexpected filter changes. That’s what your customers get from the Alfa Laval Moatti ReMan service solution. This unique service concept was created with circularity in mind. We guarantee you a fully warranted remanufactured filter, certified by Alfa Laval, that meets all specifications. Plus, Alfa Laval takes full responsibility for the care, maintenance, and flawless functioning of all Moatti filters throughout the lifetimes of the engines where they are installed. And it’s as reliable and trouble-free as an Alfa Laval Moatti filter itself.

Biofuel ready

Moatti 152, Moatti 180, and Moatti 290 fuel oil filters are suitable for use with biofuels of the following type: Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAME), compliant with EN 14214   and Hydrotreated Vegetable Oils (HVO) and blends of these with ISO 8217–compliant hydrocarbon fuels.

Fuel oil filters

Alfa Laval fuel oil filters provide full-flow filtration of heavy fuel oils for two-stroke and four-stroke diesel engines. They are available in a large range of filtration grades.

Lubricating oil filters

Alfa Laval lubricating oil filters provide full-flow filtration of lubricating oils for trunk piston and crosshead engines. Types 160, 240, 280 and 350 cover all lubricating oil flows.

Moatti 152 filters

With high-efficiency fuel oil filtration for four stroke or small two stroke engines. The 152 filter is a proven filter solution, protecting your engine from catalytic fines and fuel instability.

Moatti 180 filters

Our most compact system yet, the 180 filters don’t compromise on filtering area while still delivering high efficiency fine filtration with virtually no pressure drop.

Moatti 240 filters

The 240 filters are compact and light-weight full flow lubrication oil filters for high-speed four stroke engines. The ideal replacement for traditional cellulose cartridge spin-on filters.

Moatti 290 filter

Alfa Laval Moatti 290 filters utilize the original Atrium technology for automatic self-cleaning filters. Our most modular range, the 290 filters will adapt to meet your requirements with precision.

Moatti 350 filters

Providing full flow filtration of lubricating oils for medium-speed trunk piston and crosshead engines, the Moatti 350 range is nevertheless compact and autonomous thanks to its hydraulic drive.

Sludge Dewatering

PureDry

Recover oil while reducing waste handling costs. Alfa Laval PureDry is an automated system that separates waste oil into three phases: cleaned oil, water and super-dry solids.

Automated and modular

  • Processes continuously at flow rates of up to 300l/h
  • Compact, modular system, install in any space
  • Integrates with onboard systems
  • Smart automation adapts process control to feed conditions
  • No water consumption or additional waste generated

Alfa Laval PureDry cuts your waste handling and disposal costs. The system eliminates your oily waste by removing water and concentrating solids to a super-dry sludge. Its efficiency allows you to reduce holding tank volumes, freeing up space. You can even achieve fuel savings of up to 0,4% if FO and LO waste are stored separately.
